Living in a National Park in France since he was a child, his commitment to Protected Areas began at an early age. At 17, he received the Ford Foundation Award for his work on a marsh visited by migratory birds, which became a reserve soon afterwards... After his veterinarian studies, he dedicated his work to conservation and development in Africa, in multiple countries and parks, mostly in West Africa . For the past 3 years, he has been working for IUCN as regional coordinator for the protected areas program in West and Central Africa

Bora joined IUCN in March 2009 as programme officer for the protected areas programme for West and Central Africa . She is in charge of several aspects relating to the implementation and development of the programme. Prior to joining IUCN, she worked for a protected areas management programme in Côte d'Ivoire , and she has over the past years developed and implemented various projects addressing environment issues mainly in West Africa . Her experience combines projects' management and the scientific and technical knowledge relating to conservation, environment and sustainable development issues.
Bora is citizen from the Democratic Republic of Congo. She holds a Master in Agronomy and a Bachelor in Ecology.

As a veterinarian, Beatrice was early interested in conservation issues especially regarding the interaction between wild and domestic animals. She has evolved in an african working context for several years dealing with various veterinarian issues linked with sustainable development. She worked for NGO, research center and african international institution before joining the protected areas programme for West and Central Africa of IUCN in February 2009 as program officer. She is involved in the multiple aspects of protected areas management effectiveness implementation.

Gabrielle holds a master in project management and has a background in economics and development economics. She has been working in Ouagadougou for four years. In prior functions she has put her competences in projects management, knowledge of development issues and civil society to different kind of institutions (embassy, local association or NGO) . She has officially joined IUCN/PACO on 1st June, 2009 after two missions for the PAPACO in which Gabrielle contributed to the realisation of the documentary “En quête d'équité?and realized a study on community protected areas. Gabrielle is now committed to create sustainable links between local populations and their environment, by giving support to west african civil society organisations initiatives.

Très intéressé par la gestion rationnelle des ressources naturelles, Lacina commence sa carrière professionnelle dans un projet de gestion des écosystèmes naturels au Burkina Faso. Il met ensuite ses compétences à la disposition de l' Association de Gestion des Ressources de Faune de la Comoé Léraba (AGEREF), une association Burkinabè intervenant dans la gestion communautaire des aires protégées. Il y occupe cinq années durant le poste Chargé des aménagements avant de rejoindre en mars 2010 le PAPACO en qualité de chargé de programme des Petites Subventions du Fonds Français pour l'Environnement Mondiale. Il est titulaire d'une maîtrise en sciences et techniques du développement rural et d'un diplôme d'ingénieur des eaux et forêts obtenus à l'Institut du Développement Rural de l'Université Polytechnique de Bobo Dioulasso (Burkina Faso).

Après un doctorat en Médecine Vétérinaire à Dakar en 2002, il a rejoint le Groupe de Recherches et d'Echange Technologiques (GRET) pour un travail sur la qualité microbiologique du lait, puis a intégré en 2005, le corps des conservateurs de la Direction des Parcs Nationaux du sénégal, où il a occupé successivement les fonctions de conservateur adjoint du Parc National du Niokolo Koba, conservateur du Parc National de la Basse Casamance et Chef de division des Réserves Naturelles Communautaires. Après avoir fait un Master Spécialisé en Gestion des Aires Protégées financé par l'UICN, il intègre le Papaco pour s'occuper plus particulièrement de l'amélioration du système de gestion des sites du patrimoine mondial naturel de l'Afrique de l'Ouest. |
